SME Awards 2023

We believe that SMEs shape the future of the green economy, and it's our responsibility to support them. One of the ways we're fulfilling this commitment is through the Bank al Etihad SME Awards — now back in its 8th edition. This year, the awards will honour and reward companies that have committed to delivering environmental solutions or adopting green transition measures into their operations to preserve our planet's resources for future generations.

About the award

We will begin accepting applications from September 5 to October 14, 2023. Once the application period ends, a panel of Bank al Etihad representatives will select 3 finalists. The finalists will participate in a boot camp from November 19 to 23, 2023, to prepare them for a live pitch they will deliver to an external jury panel during the awards ceremony. The external jury panel will then select and announce the winning company at the end of the ceremony. 

Each applicant will be evaluated based on the following criteria and corresponding weights:

- Environmental commitment: 50%
- Financial strength: 30%
- Business continuity and growth: 20%

The winning company will receive a 50,000 JOD cash prize that will be deposited into their Bank al Etihad company account.

Eligibility criteria: 

The participating business must: 
- Be a for-profit business; 
- Employ 1 up to 250 employees;
- Be registered at the Jordanian Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply;
- Be at least 3 years old (based on the registration date);
- Be based in Jordan

The applicant should be the legal representative of the company and a business shareholder. They are responsible for submitting the application on behalf of the company and representing it throughout the award process.
