This process has been approved by the Central Bank of Jordan and is a step aimed at developing Jordan’s banking sector and building stronger banks that serve customers better.

All guarantees will be transferred automatically to Bank al Etihad in accordance with the acquisition decision.

5. What will happen to customers and their accounts?
Your accounts and balances will be transferred automatically to Bank al Etihad. Please visit one of our branches to update your information, receive a new ATM card, and activate the Bank al Etihad mobile app.
6. Will there be any changes to my account details, IBAN, or SWIFT code?
Yes. You’ll be provided with all the details when you visit a branch.
7. How will customer service be affected?
You can continue contacting your relationship manager or customer service teams as usual. If your relationship manager changes, we’ll let you know.
8. What is the timeline for the acquisition?
We expect the acquisition process to be completed by the end of March 2026, and you’ll be kept updated on all developments.
9. Will I need to open a new account? Will my loans or fees change?
Your account at the Egyptian Arab Land Bank will be transferred to Bank al Etihad, and you’ll be provided with a new account number, while your terms and conditions will stay the same.
10. Will I need to download a new app?
Yes. You’ll need to download the Bank al Etihad mobile app to benefit from all the features it offers.
11. Will the Egyptian Arab Land Bank branches remain open?
The Egyptian Arab Land Bank branches will continue serving customers as usual until 27/3/2026. After that, they will close, and all Bank al Etihad branches will be available to serve you.
12. How does the bank ensure the protection of my data during the acquisition process?
All your data is protected in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law and the instructions of the Central Bank of Jordan.
13. What will happen to my loan?
It will be transferred to Bank al Etihad under the same terms, conditions, and guarantees that apply at the Egyptian Arab Land Bank.
14. What will happen to my credit card?
After visiting a branch to update your details, a new credit card will be issued and delivered by courier within a week, with the same credit limits.
15. What will happen to my salary?
Your salary will be transferred to Bank al Etihad by your employer starting from 27/3/2026. If it isn’t transferred, please contact the HR or finance department at your workplace. You can also contact us to receive an official letter addressed to your employer.
16. What will happen to my ATM card?
Please visit your nearest branch to issue a new card. Your Egyptian Arab Land Bank ATM card will be deactivated on 27/3/2026.
17. What will happen to my safety deposit box?
Safety deposit boxes will be transferred to Bank al Etihad branches. Safety deposit boxes in the Zarqa branch will be transferred to the Bank al Etihad branch in the Zarqa Free Zone, while safety deposit boxes in other branches will be transferred to Bank al Etihad’s main branch in Shmeisani.
18. What will happen to my term deposit?
It will be transferred to your account at Bank al Etihad. On its maturity date, please visit your nearest branch or use the bank’s app to renew it, as it won’t be renewed automatically.
